The Fit Bit - Waist Time... or Waste of time?

Today is the day I start another gimmick. I was pursuing the local Best Buy and noticed a little gadget called a Fit Bit.

PRETTY FLOWERS LOLZ!

I thought about it for a week or two since I had been thinking of getting an ungodly expensive Body Bugg. I read enough reviews to decide that I could give it a shot. I've wasted more money on dumber things than this.

The website is free to use and you just have the one time fee of buying the Fit Bit. As a matter of fact if you simply want to create an account and use www.fitbit.com for your own calorie tracking, you can, for free. NEAT I SAY!

The Fit Bit is a glorified pedometer, but it wirelessly uploads your data to their tracking website and reports how active you are throughout the day. It also has a mode where you can track how soundly you are sleeping at night. Which I am particularly curious about since I have a certain black kitty that likes to get in my face an annoy me a la this cat.

On evening one of owning the product and anxious to use it. Hoping it will give me the little boost I need to be motivated!

My update: I've had it for almost a week and so far, its great! I especially am interested in how well I sleep through the night (its better than I thought I did).

I really like challenging myself to do more steps or be more "active" than the day before. The food tracking, for me, will always be annoying and hard to remember... Maybe they will make a Fit Bit that I can swallow so it will do that for me too!

For the 99 bucks retail it costs (work at a store you can get a discount ;)
Its worth it. The site is free to use so that is a plus!
