The Fit Bit - Waist Time... or Waste of time?

Today is the day I start another gimmick. I was pursuing the local Best Buy and noticed a little gadget called a Fit Bit.

PRETTY FLOWERS LOLZ!

I thought about it for a week or two since I had been thinking of getting an ungodly expensive Body Bugg. I read enough reviews to decide that I could give it a shot. I've wasted more money on dumber things than this.

The website is free to use and you just have the one time fee of buying the Fit Bit. As a matter of fact if you simply want to create an account and use www.fitbit.com for your own calorie tracking, you can, for free. NEAT I SAY!

The Fit Bit is a glorified pedometer, but it wirelessly uploads your data to their tracking website and reports how active you are throughout the day. It also has a mode where you can track how soundly you are sleeping at night. Which I am particularly curious about since I have a certain black kitty that likes to get in my face an annoy me a la this cat.

On evening one of owning the product and anxious to use it. Hoping it will give me the little boost I need to be motivated!

I like to call this "As close as you can get to Bono without getting your eyes wet."

Holy awesome shows batman!

The gods have finally smiled upon Des Moines, Ia.
We are not blessed by one, but two awesome shows in October.

1st off is MGMT. I am so freaking excited! Praise be to Satellite radio (note the continuous religious theme?) for playing Time to Pretend and Electric Feel on their stations. They'll be at People's court on Oct 1st. Which reminds me, time to get tickets.

Secondly is Jeremy's new love. Flobots. They remind me a bit of Cake from back in the 90s. Only with a more hip and political spin to their music. That show will be on Oct. 17th at the same venue.

Again, Des Moines is getting some sweet sweet shows, and at a price people can afford. Both tickets are under $20.

The Flaming Lips at the 80/35 festival were amazing. Easily one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. Even if you didn't know all of the songs they create such a euphoric atmosphere that its hard to deny they are one of the best bands ever live.
